Azure, ridden by Neeraj Rawal and trained by Imtiaz A. Sait, stormed home in a breathtaking 0:59:014, smashing the previous race record of 0:56:771 set by Harvey in 2017. The winner, racing in the colours of Mr & Mrs Shapoor P. Mistry rep. Manjri Horse Breeders’ Farm Pvt Ltd, Mr D R Thacker rep. DT Racing & Breeders LLP, and Mr Ashok Ranpise, delighted owners and spectators alike with this record-breaking display.
Azure took command early under Rawal’s confident guidance, settling just off the pace before unleashing a devastating turn of foot in the final 200 metres. With a clean stride and flawless timing, the winner surged past rivals in the straight, leaving the field trailing in his wake and etching a new chapter in Pune race history.
Storm Cloud (J: C. Umesh, T: Narendra Lagad) stayed on resolutely to claim second in 0:59:201, while Mojo (J: Ritesh Gochhi, T: Faisal A. Abbas) finished strongly to take third in 0:59:228. The top three were separated by mere fractions, showcasing the competitive depth of the race.
