The third day of the Mysore Monsoon Races 2025 delivered a thrilling contest in Race 2 – The M.S. Suresh Memorial Trophy (Div II), a Class III 1400m event for horses rated 40 to 65, run at 2:30 PM on Thursday, 11 September 2025. In a display of class and finishing speed, True Punch (J: Antony Raj S.) powered home under the guidance of trainer M. Rajendra Singh, clocking 1:23.859 to claim victory in the colours of owner Mr. Anil Saraf.
Breaking smartly into stride, True Punch settled into a handy position through the early stages before making a decisive move at the turn. Showing both stamina and acceleration in the final 200 metres, the four-year-old bay gelding stretched away from his rivals with authority, leaving no doubt about his superiority in the closing stages.
The experienced Klimt (J: Dhanu Singh Deora, T: Bobby M) fought on gamely to take second, finishing in 1:24.170, while Sapient (J: Abhishek Mhatre, T: J.S. Pillay) produced a late surge to claim third in 1:24.346, rounding out a competitive top three in this keenly contested handicap.
With the applause still ringing across the Mysore Racecourse stands, attention now turns to Race 3 – The Regency Gold Plate (Div II) at 3:00 PM, where another set of contenders will look to stamp their authority on the card.
