The second race of the Calcutta Monsoon Meeting’s seventh day, The Arezzo Handicap (Class IV, 1800m), run at 2:15 PM on Wednesday, 10th September 2025, saw Heart (J: P. Trevor, T: Deepesh Narredu) deliver a commanding performance. Racing in the silks of Dr Ram H Shroff & Mr Raj H Shroff rep Stride Livestock Pvt Ltd, Mr Chetan Shah, Mr Subodh Maskara & Mr Pankaj Kumar Maskara rep Citoc Ventures Pvt Ltd & Mr Rajeev Vasudeo Goenka, the 5-year-old showcased stamina and class to stop the clock at 1:51.758, securing a well-judged victory.
From the break, the pace was even, with Cool Daddy dictating early fractions and The Presence staying handy. Trevor kept Heart settled in midfield before asking for an effort around the final bend. Responding strongly, Heart surged past the leaders in the last furlong, stretching away to seal the win with authority and composure.
The runner-up honours went to Cool Daddy (J: Mukesh Kumar, T: B Rajender Reddy), who stayed on but finished nearly two lengths adrift at 1:54.057. The Presence (J: Md Sameer, T: Shafiq Khan) claimed third, crossing the post in 1:54.897 after a grinding effort in the straight.
With The Arezzo Handicap concluded, racing enthusiasts now turn their attention to the upcoming The Exception Handicap (2:45 PM), which promises another thrilling contest in the Calcutta Monsoon Meeting.
