Pretty Move powers home in Star of Mysore Trophy

Pretty Move Star of Mysore Trophy win at Mysore Monsoon Races
By | 04 Sep 2025

The Star of Mysore Trophy (1400m) on Day 1 of the 2025/2026 Mysore Monsoon Races produced a fluent display from Pretty Move, who lived up to her name with a powerful late burst. Trained by Rakesh and given a confident ride by Antony Raj S, the chestnut filly secured the Pretty Move Star of Mysore Trophy win by two and a half lengths in a time of 1:24.787.

Antony Raj kept Pretty Move in a handy position before unleashing her at the top of the straight. The response was immediate as she swept past the early leaders and stretched away, much to the delight of her supporters in the Mysore stands.

Drisana, trained by Pillay J S and ridden by Anil Baandal, tried hard but had to settle for second, half a length in front of Mystic Divine, who stayed on for third under Faiz. The Golden Sunrise filled fourth spot, while Gemini, Grace, and Natural Light finished further behind.

For trainer Rakesh, this was an early-season boost, with Pretty Move showing the temperament and turn of foot of a horse likely to progress as the campaign unfolds. The win also highlighted Antony Raj’s strong run of form at Mysore.

The day now moves to its concluding contest — the Varada Plate Division I, the last race of the opening day’s programme.
