Chantilly Racecourse Hosts Thrilling September 1 Meeting

Chantilly Racecourse was alive with colour and cheer on September 1, as a full card of nine races gave fans plenty to celebrate. Trainers were seen embracing their jockeys in the winner’s enclosure, while the crowd responded with heartfelt applause to the competitive racing on show throughout the afternoon.

The day opened with the Prix Des Terres Noires, a Class 2 event over 1600 metres, where Serines (IRE) surged clear in the final strides under jockey Mickael Barzalona to secure victory for trainer Mme A. Karkosa. Souvenir D’ecajeul finished second with jockey Vaclav Janacek riding for trainer G. Arizkorreta Elosegui, while Dapango ran third with jockey Stephane Pasquier for trainer S. Smrczek.

The Prix de Montpensier, run over 1200 metres on soft ground, went to Street Show, guided confidently by jockey Maxime Guyon for trainer P&J. Brandt. Go Ken Go stayed on well for second under jockey Hugo Journiac for trainer F. Guyader, and Sbikha claimed third with jockey Dorian Provost for trainer M. Brasme.

In the Prix du Camp de César, a Class 3 divided handicap over 1600 metres, jockey Cristian Demuro produced a well-timed ride on Montgaudry to land the race for trainer D. Smaga. Orange Vif took second under jockey Ronan Thomas for trainer Mme C. Barande Barbe, while Pearl Harbour was third with jockey Eddy Hardouin for trainer P. Van de Weijer.

The Prix de l’Eglise Ruinée de Champlieu over 1100 metres was won by Haaricia, ridden by jockey David Breux for trainer L. Boualem. Lagoa Santa filled second place with jockey Maxime Guyon for trainer F. Monnier, and Big Freeze completed the placings under jockey Laura Grosso for trainer L. Cendra.

Another strong performance came in the Prix de Raray, a 1600-metre claiming race, where jockey Mickael Barzalona partnered Pastisse to victory for trainer P. Cottier. Premonition ran second with jockey Aurélien Lemaître for trainer F. Chappet, while Raiden finished third under jockey Cristian Demuro for trainer X. Blanchet.

The Prix de la Cathédrale de Beauvais, a Class 3 handicap over 1100 metres, went the way of Permenton, delivered with a decisive ride by jockey Fabien Lefebvre for trainer D. Oost. Sixtus finished second under jockey Anthony Crastus for trainer D. Bonilla, and Reminisce was third with jockey Ebbe Verhestraeten for trainer R. Roels.

In the Prix du Marais Dozet, contested over 1600 metres, jockey Christophe Soumillon guided Casares to a polished victory for trainer M. Delcher Sanchez. Topy’Sim came home second under jockey Léa Bails for trainer N. Guilbert, while Big Log ran third with jockey Mickael Barzalona for trainers D&P. Prod’homme.

The penultimate race, the Prix de la Ville de Lamorlaye, a 1600-metre maiden, went to Al Max, who broke through under jockey Augustin Madamet for trainer P. Decouz. Hors Limites filled the runner-up spot with jockey Cristian Demuro for trainer L. Vanska, and Stupéfiante finished third under jockey Christophe Soumillon for trainer F.H. Graffard.

The meeting closed with the Prix de l’Etang de Toutevoie, a 1600-metre Class 3 handicap, where Alcotan proved strongest in the finish under jockey Malone Favriaux for trainer M. Drean. Joyce Galeste finished second with jockey Benjamin Marie for trainer H. Ghabri, and Simancas was third under jockey Léa Bails for trainer N. Guilbert.

It was a day that captured the essence of French flat racing, with Chantilly Racecourse once again confirming its reputation as a stage for both emerging talent and seasoned professionals.
