Seven Races, Seven Stories at Vittel Captivate Racing Fans

The Hippodrome de Vittel came alive on 27 August 2025, as a perfect summer afternoon played host to seven gripping contests that kept the crowd on their toes. From the subtle drama of a late surge to a commanding display of stamina, each race had its own tale to tell, leaving connections beaming and fans applauding the performances.

The opening act, Prix de la Place Stanislas, set the tone at 4:22pm over 2400 metres. Lantana, ridden with composure by Louis Bouton and trained by F.H. Graffard, crossed the line in 2.37.26. Owned and bred by Skymarc Farm Stables, Lantana showed a decisive turn of foot to outstay Maestral, while Shrihara battled for third, eliciting cheers from the stands.

Next, in the Prix de la Colline de Sion at 4:57pm (1600 metres), Glance of Stars produced a determined performance under Eddy Hardouin for trainer D. Artu. Completing the journey in 1.44.5, the runner, representing Mme Veronika Jud-Fre and bred by Mme G. Forien, held off Bozzo with Saint Aquilin finishing third, delivering a thrilling spectacle of speed and tenacity.

The third contest, Prix Maria Lezynska (5:32pm, 1600 metres), brought Fisful of Love to the fore. Guided by Benjamin Marie and prepared by R. Jansen, the Lazy Horse Stables runner powered home in 1.43.57 to edge past Boavista, with Lady Madeira in third place. The crowd responded enthusiastically to the strong late surge.

The Prix de Crainvillers at 6:17pm (3400 metres) tested stamina to the extreme. Stella Marina, expertly handled by Eddy Hardouin for M. Weber, stamped authority on the event in 4.2.82. Bred by S. de Jacob and racing in the colours of P. de Jacob / S. de Jacob, the winner proved too strong for Lovebird, with Matgiwell completing the placings.

At 6:53pm, the Prix du Restaurant de l’Hippodrome “Le Comptoir” (2100 metres) thrilled spectators with a closely fought finish. Zoom Chop, ridden by Hugo Boutin and trained by T. Speicher, stayed on relentlessly to claim victory in 2.19.0. Representing Sandrine Toussaint and bred by A. Chopard, Zoom Chop held off Desna, while Happy Valentine finished third.

One of the standout moments came in the Prix Maison de la Mirabelle Rozelieres (M. Coestlosquet) (7:25pm, 3800 metres Hurdles). Impressive, under Quentin Defontaine for trainers Lageneste & Macaire, delivered a commanding jump-race display in 4.26.26. Owned by Mme P. Papot / Ecurie Gabeur and bred by Mme B. Gabeur, the winner finished comfortably ahead of Giotto des Plachis, with Saint Langis in third.

Finally, the curtain fell on the Prix de la Neuveville-sous-Montfort (7:57pm, 4200 metres Chase), where Jazzante, expertly piloted by Thomas Poteaux for E. Clayeux, claimed victory in 5.13.49. Bred by Mme M. Juhen-Cypres, L. Juhen, B. Juhen, T. Juhen, and carrying the silks of B. Juhen – J.M. Cordier, Jazzante held off Kidnappeur while Kadabra Allen rounded out the placings, capping a memorable day of racing.

Vittel delivered a spectacular showcase of horsemanship, determination, and excitement, ensuring fans left with memories of seven contests where every finish told a story.
