The Robin Grossmith Memorial Handicap Stakes, run over one mile two furlongs at 3.55pm, saw Stormy Monday power home under Kieran Shoemark to secure a commanding victory for trainer Ed Walker. Soul Dance attempted a late rally but could not match the winner’s turn of foot, while Carnival Day held on for third.
The Handicap Stakes over one mile 113 yards at 4.28pm produced a thrilling finish as Jiff’s Army held on by a neck under Rossa Ryan, fending off a late surge from Due West, with Play Me finishing third.
The final contest of the day, the seven-furlong Handicap Stakes, belonged to The Bitter Moose, who displayed a smart turn of foot under Jim Crowley to draw clear in the closing stages at 5.03pm. Valley of the Kings and Mafnood battled for the remaining placings.
