The fifth race of the afternoon at the Royal Calcutta Turf Club on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, was The Betbricks7 Play and Win Handicap, a 1,400-metre Class II contest run at 4:30 PM. A strong field of contenders lined up, but it was Main Street who ultimately proved the best.
Ridden confidently by P. Trevor and trained by Arti Doctor, Main Street produced a composed performance to edge out his rivals, crossing the line in 1:25.600. The victory was a proud moment for his owner, Mr. Kersi H Vachha, as the filly showed both tactical speed and staying ability to claim top honours.
Just half a length behind came Snowpiercer, guided by A Ashhad Asbar for trainer Patrick Quinn, who clocked 1:25.674. Close on their heels was King of Mafia, with Imran Chisty up for B Mahesh, finishing third in 1:25.736.
The fourth place was filled by Great Guns, ridden by R Vaibhav for trainer Aashay Doctor, who registered 1:25.961. Fifth across the line was Natural Grace, guided by Neeraj Rawal and trained by Neil Darashah, finishing in 1:26.022.
The Betbricks7 Play and Win Handicap was one of the most competitive events of the day, with the top finishers separated by narrow margins. With Main Street holding firm under pressure, the win underscored her consistency and fighting spirit.
Racing now continues with the evening’s feature sprint, The Vajra Handicap, scheduled for 5:00 PM, promising more action to round out the day’s card.
