Cascade Wins The Lucky Luciano Trophy
The Pune Racecourse crowd was treated to another stirring contest in The Lucky Luciano Trophy, a class V handicap for Indian horses aged four years and above, rated 1 to 26. In a well-judged performance, Cascade (J: Aditya Waydande) stormed home to secure victory for trainer Behram Cama, stopping the clock at 1:41:480.
Racing in the silks of Mr Jaydev M. Mody representing J. M. Livestock Pvt. Ltd., Cascade showed tactical patience before asserting in the final furlong. Her acceleration on the home stretch proved decisive, leaving the chasing pack to battle for the minor honours.
Yuletide (J: A. Prakash, T: Narendra Lagad) put in a determined challenge to take second in 1:42:105, narrowly ahead of Marlboro Man (J: Ramswarup, T: Subhag Singh) who finished a close third in 1:42:163.
As the cheers settled and the winning connections savoured their triumph, attention turned towards the day’s feature event, the Teena Katrak Memorial Independence Million, expected to draw a competitive field and heightened anticipation.
