Psychic Star Clinches Pune’s Rajaram Chhatrapati Trophy
The Rajaram Chhatrapati Trophy, a class II handicap for Indian horses rated 60 to 86, brought middle-distance quality to the Special Race Day of Pune Meeting 2025. With the good track still holding, the race unfolded with an even tempo before the leaders quickened in the final stretch.
Psychic Star, ridden with precision by Vivek G. for ace trainer Pesi Shroff, proved the strongest, surging ahead to stop the clock at 1:51:853. It was another memorable moment for connections, with the horse carrying the silks of Mr. Vijay B. Shirke, Mrs. Vijay B. Shirke, Mr. Jay V. Shirke, Mrs. Liane Luthria, and Miss Ameeta Mehra.
Regina Memorabilis, under Neeraj Rawal for Imtiaz A. Sait, secured second place in 1:52:110, while Alpine Star, partnered by Aditya Waydande for Narendra Lagad, completed the top three in 1:53:619.
With the Rajaram Chhatrapati Trophy decided, focus now shifts to the Yohan Z. Poonawalla Turf Club Trophy, where another competitive field awaits.
