Celtic Harlequin Finishes Strong to End Calcutta’s Monsoon Meeting Day 2 on a High

The curtain came down on Day 2 of the Royal Calcutta Turf Club Monsoon Meeting with the sixth and final contest, The Imperial Stride Handicap Div II, a 1100-meter dash for horses rated 41–66. With ₹5,00,000 in total prize money on offer, the race delivered a tight and thrilling conclusion to a dramatic afternoon of action in Calcutta.

The final word belonged to Celtic Harlequin, who stormed home in 1:06.909 under a strong ride by Md Azharuddin for trainer Rutherford Alford. This composed and clinical ride secured a satisfying win for owner Mr. Rahul Sharma, as the horse surged ahead in the final furlong to clinch top honors.

Hot on his heels was Cat Whiskers, ridden by Hasib Alam for the in-form Aashay Doctor, finishing a close second in 1:07.095. Fresh Hope, with Vinay Jaiswal aboard for trainer B Rajender Reddy, kept things competitive to round out the top three in 1:07.151.
