Romping Home shines in Bangalore’s Esquire Plate with powerful maiden win

Romping Home, ridden by Yash Narredu, breaks her maiden in style with a powerful finish in the Esquire Plate at Bangalore.

The momentum continued on Day 22 of the Bangalore Summer Meeting with The Esquire Plate, a 1200-meter terms race exclusively for three-year-old maidens. The contest carried a generous prize pool of ₹11,00,000 and attracted a field of young talent eager to break through.

Emerging from the pack with authority was Romping Home, who lived up to her name by clinching a commanding victory under jockey Yash Narredu. Trained by Deepesh Narredu, the filly surged ahead in the final furlong to cross the finish line in 1:13.14, leaving no doubts about her potential. The ownership group includes Mr. Daulat Chhabria, Mr. Hatim A. Lakdawala, Mr. Teja Gollapudi, Dr. Prabhakar Chowdary Tripuraneni, and Mr. Anil Saraf.

Konkrah finished a brave second, guided by top rider A. Sandesh for trainer Arjun Mangalorkar, clocking 1:14.31.

Rounding out the top three was Solara, ridden by Akshay Kumar and trained by S.S. Attaollahi, who delivered a promising effort in 1:14.63, staying on well in the straight.
