The Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) kicked off the 22nd day of its Summer Meeting on Sunday, July 27, 2025, with The Lively Emprey Plate, a 1200-meter whip-less handicap for horses rated 00 to 25, offering a purse of ₹4,50,000.
Meghann stamped her authority early in the afternoon, cruising to a confident win under the guidance of jockey Laxman Singh. Trained by Warren Singh, Meghann controlled the pace smartly and delivered a strong finish to stop the clock at 1:16.19, sealing the opener in style. The winner is owned by Mr. Warren Singh, giving the connection a perfect start to the day.
The second spot went to Embosom, who gave a spirited chase under Vivek G. for trainer V. Lokanath. Though she showed good acceleration in the final stages, Embosom couldn’t bridge the gap, finishing in 1:16.82.
Phoenix Surprise, partnered by Pavan and trained by K. Purshotham, rounded out the top three with a solid third-place effort, clocking 1:16.85.
The Lively Emprey Plate set a competitive tone for the afternoon. Next up is The Camineto Plate (Div II), as the day continues to unfold at BTC. The card’s biggest highlight, the Karnataka Mile Championship Cup, slotted as race 6 has already stirred major anticipation among racing fans.
