The Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) launched the 21st day of its summer meeting on Saturday, July 26, 2025, with the Brave Dancer Plate, the opening contest on a seven-race card. The racing action began with this 1800-metre handicap race for horses rated 00 to 25, offering a winners’ purse of Rs. 4,50,000. With the track officially rated “soft going”, a penetrometer reading of 4.7 cm, and false rails placed at an average width of 3.5 metres from the 1600-metre mark to the winning post, conditions tested both strategy and stamina.

Double Scotch, trained by S. Shoban Babu and ridden confidently by Antony Raj S, made a striking move in the final metres to clinch victory in 1:58.21. Owned by Mr. Ramesh R, the winner handled the soft underfoot conditions effectively, staying composed under pressure and showcasing a strong finishing kick.

Sea Diamond, from the yard of Umar Shariff S and guided by Vinod Shinde, ran a game race to secure second, clocking 1:58.56. The runner stayed in contention throughout but couldn’t match the final burst of the winner.

Close on their heels was Highland Dream, trained by M. Eshwer and ridden by Abhishek Mhatre, who filled out the frame with a time of 1:58.58 in a close third-place effort.

The Brave Dancer Plate proved a fitting curtain-raiser, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting afternoon at BTC. Up next is the Red Divine Plate, an 1100-metre dash scheduled as the second race of the day, expected to keep the momentum going with a competitive field. The spotlight event of the day is the Bangalore City Sprint Championship Gold Cup, scheduled for 4:30 pm. Stay with RaceBuzz for live coverage and detailed race reports throughout the day.
