The Hyderabad Salver, the penultimate race of the Bangalore Summer Meeting card (day-18), offered a competitive 1400-meter handicap contest for horses rated 40 to 65. Scheduled at 4:45 pm, the race carried a winner’s purse of ₹6,30,000 and drew a strong field vying for late-day honours at the Bangalore Turf Club.
Promiseofthefuture, trained by Irfan Ghatala and ridden by Pavan, put in a resolute performance to seize the win for owner Ms Ameeta Mehra. Clocking 1:25.26, the winner found a decisive turn of foot in the final furlong to outbattle Mountain Jewel, who finished second.
Tote-favourite Mountain Jewel, ridden by jockey Antony Raj S. and trained by Prasanna Kumar, finished second with a time of 1:25.83. The runner-up is owned by M/s. Rapar Galloping Stars LLP and Mr. K. Kaliyaperumal.
Finishing third was Don Carlos, piloted by P. Trevor for trainer S. S. Attaollahi. Representing the Five Stars Shipping Co Pvt Ltd, M/s. DT Racing & Breeding LLP & Mr Rama Seshu Eyunni, he crossed the post in 1:26.95, maintaining a steady run to complete the top three.
