Prana powers home in the Bangalore’s Amokbash B. T. C. Anniversary Cup 

Prana, with Suraj Narredu aboard, finishes strongly to win the Amokbash B. T. C. Anniversary Cup (Grade II) from Crown Drive and Meropi at Bangalore Turf Club.

The spotlight shifted to one of the feature races on Day 18 of the Bangalore Summer Meeting as Prana delivered a commanding performance to win the Amokbash B. T. C. Anniversary Cup (Grade II). This prestigious 1400-meter terms race, for horses four years old and over, went off at 2:50 pm and carried a lucrative purse of ₹30,90,000.

Ridden by the experienced Suraj Narredu, Prana clocked 1:24.11 to take home top honours for trainer Prasanna Kumar and ownership group M/s Rapar Galloping Stars LLP, represented by Mr Rajendran.

Crown Drive, under Hindu Singh for trainer B. Suresh, ran a spirited race to finish second in 1:24.24. Representing the famous Dr. M. A. M. Ramaswamy Chettiar of Chettinad Charitable Trust, Crown Drive showed good acceleration but couldn’t reel in the winner.

Finishing third was the tote-favourite Meropi, partnered by P. Trevor and trained by Aashay Doctor. Owned by Mr Solomon Benveniste, M/S. Deciding Factor LLP, Mrs Menaka Gupta & Mrs Rina Mahindra & Mr Marthand Singh Mahindra & Mr. Hemang D. Doctor & Mr. Viral Doctor, M/S. Cherie Sports Pvt Ltd., Meropi clocked 1:24.33, staying on well to complete the frame.

With the Amokbash Cup delivering a good-quality result, all eyes now turn to the next feature event, the Five Stars Shipping Million, scheduled at 3:25 pm, as the afternoon’s action continues to build momentum.
