Emphatic wins The Chennai Cup at Bangalore

Emphatic, guided by P. Trevor and trained by S. Padmanabhan, wins the 1600-meter Chennai Cup at Bangalore Turf Club, finishing ahead of Rock Bank and Bashir.

The Chennai Cup was run as the penultimate race on Day 17 of the Bangalore Summer Meeting. The 1600-meter handicap, open to horses rated 60 to 85, carried a prize purse of ₹7,00,000 and was held at 4:30 pm.

Emphatic, trained by S. Padmanabhan and ridden by P. Trevor, delivered a strong finish to win the race in 1:37.82. The winner is owned by Mr M. Rishad, Mr P. J. Vazifdar, Mrs P. J. Vazifdar & Mr. Nariman Dickey Chothia & M/s. DT Racing & Breeding LLP, Mr Mukul A. Sonawala. P. Trevor won the previous race with Ice Of Fire and followed it up with another win in the next race aboard Emphatic.

Rock Bank, trained by Prasanna Kumar and ridden by Akshay Kumar, finished second with a time of 1:38.25. Bashir, trained by Karthik Ganapathy and partnered by Antony Raj S., took third place in 1:38.83.

Following the Chennai Cup, attention is on the final race of the day, The Hooves of Steel Million Div II, scheduled at 5:00 pm.
