The second race of the Mysore Summer Races Day 7 unfolded over a testing 1600 metres, as The Whitefield Plate presented a contest for middle-distance specialists. With a prize purse of ₹3,75,000 on offer, it was Vandan who rose to the occasion and delivered a polished performance to seize top honours.
Trained by Mansoor Khan and guided to perfection by S. G. Prasad, Vandan dictated terms with a well-judged ride, crossing the line in 1:38.378. Representing the ownership of M/s. Abhijith Kale Gowda & Hanumant S. Telange, the victory marked a solid middle-distance statement early in the day.
In second place came Coorg General, ridden by Dhanu Singh Deora and trained by Aditya K. Finishing in 1:38.843, Coorg General remained in contention throughout and put in a game effort to close strongly.
Miracle Honey completed the frame, narrowly behind in 1:38.858, following a consistent run under S. Antony Raj for trainer Ashwin Rao S. The front three were well clear of the rest of the field, indicating a quality finish to a competitive race.
As The Whitefield Plate concluded with an exciting three-way finish, the attention now shifts to the next event, The Evita Plate Division I. The day continues to promise close competition and engaging results at the Mysore Racecourse.
